SUPPLEMENTS TO THE RESCUE: MARKET DEVELOPMENT PERSPECTIVES  AND CONSUMPTION TRENDS
According to statistics, up to 20% of the Russian population regularly take dietary supplements in one form or another. During the pandemic, the Russian market grew at a record double-digit pace and has almost doubled since 2018, reaching RUB 105 billion. Consumer interest in dietary supplement products continues unabated.

The regulator is trying to influence the situation by clarifying the permissible composition and dosage of dietary supplements in the technical regulations of the EAEU on specialized food products. Starting in September of this year, the phased introduction of labeling of dietary supplements begins, which will become mandatory from March 1, 2024.
Is the dietary supplement market ready for greater transparency and responsible attitude towards consumer health?

Discussion:
  • positions of the main participants in the process: the role of the regulator, market participants, doctors, patient organizations, pharmacy and retail
